Welcome to the Handweaving Studio website!
The Studio is at Woodbridge, a small town 42km south of
Hobart on the island of Tasmania. We are uphill from Peppermint Bay and have some spectacular views over the D'Entrecasteaux
Channel and Bruny Island.
The weaving
consists of three areas:
- small
production runs of shawls, cushions, throws, garments, etc.
- floor
rugs made from handspun wool or recycled dyed fabrics.
- handwoven
original tapestries.
Our raw materials are handspun wool, alpaca and mohair (some from our
own animals), silk, cotton, linen and Collie dog hair.
Work can
be purchased from the Studio shop or commissioned. Tuition for loom weaving
and tapestry is also available. |
