It was as I was coming home after an evening of firedancing that I realised
an important aspect of mine and literally everyone's life in relation to magick.
(quick disclaimer: these are only my thoughts - I don't expect anyone else to
agree with them)
A very easy (to me) magick to make is 'the perfect moment'. let me explain....
Part of my realisation a long time ago was to open and extend my senses to be aware of emotions and events on a magickal level (in that nothing is coincidence, everything is for a reason - and so by being aware of this, I can interact on a spiritual level with whatever comes my way - not to say that I have mastered this, but it is something that I work at). I often find that this way I make less mistakes with my life, and discover strings of coincidences that break all scientific probability, usually to my benefit. =)
By being (or at least trying to be) highly aware of myself, my surroundings and people around me on a spiritual level, I find I am able sometimes able to create a 'perfect moment' --- either for myself or others - an event / moment in time when the 'perfect'/'right' things are done, the 'perfect'/'right' things are said, the moment feels special, alive, connected.
And so my firedancing --- it is my magick. It is my spiritual connection with a 'perfect moment' - which enables me to do some amazing firedancing And within the 'perfect moment' there are no boundaries - anything is possible....
So how does this relate to other people? A person's skills are their magick - but often they don't realise it. A person learns a skill, but feels that they can never be good at it - it is 'just the way it is'. I disagree. I person who has mastered a skill is more aware on that level (actually, I don't believe that someone can 'master' a skill, because that implies that there is no more left to learn). That is all. Anyone can be a master of a skill - first you have to learn what is needed - the moves as it were. Then you need to practise them until they are second nature. Then you open your awareness out and connect. no fear. no thoughts that you may fail or do something wrong. just your skill and your connection.
I was talking to a friend of mine last night who is to belly dancing what I am to firedancing, and she agrees - her bellydancing is her magick. That's what makes it so special, and that is why she is so good.
