"Mithra, Osiris, Cernunnos, Apollo, Hanuman, Wotan, Chango"
and
"Merlin, Odin, Coyote, and Pan" (sorry, I don't know how they go)
I like the second one, and though Coyote was always a bit too chaotic for my tastes- it seems to fit in here... I like the overall feel of it. simple, easy to remember (keeps the younger side of me happy <grin>); it flows, builds, and it has the potential to be very powerful. I rate it a 8 or 9 out of 10 compared to most god chants I've run across. It feels extremely playful, like a brisk run thru the woods, yet ancient and wise... would be great for Beltane or Midsummer (Litha) celebrations, or sun rituals... very nice...
The first one really doesn't catch my interest, personally, even though Cernunnos, Apollo, and Osiris are a few of my favorites.
It seems to be an energy building chant for very specific divination, spellwork, and magick, considering the deities mentioned. major patterns I'm noticing are raw energy, connections/resources, knowledge, and a bit of destiny/luck. Looks like it would be best for a career or "mundane-world" related spell; or an off-color working that involves romantic/social interests (for those so inclined), or something like that. <shrug>
Hanuman is a Hindu god and symbol of devotion and service. That was all the information I could find at this time.
Chango (Shango) is the god of thunder and the ancestor of the Yoruba people of Nigeria. He is the son of Yemaja, the mother goddess and protector of birth. Shango is portrayed with a double axe on his head (the symbol of thunder), with six eyes and sometimes with three heads. His symbolic animal is the ram; his colors are red and white, which are regarded as being holy. In Brazil, Shango is worshipped as a thunder and weather god by the Umbandists. In Santeria, Shango (Chango) is the equivalent of the Catholic saint St. Barbara. Shango was once the fourth king of Yoruba, immortalized after death.
Wotan seems to be an alternate rendering of Wodan, or Odin.
Mithra is An old-Iranian god of light, contracts and friendship. He also maintains the cosmic order.
That's about all I could get from those two chants. Hope this helps :)
